1. Quick Hits (TL;DR)
ETH Tokyo, on the ground (7–20 Sept) — We were in Tokyo around ETHTokyo (12–15 Sept). Met founders and investors, seeded intros, and mapped follow-ups. If you’re a founder needing an edge with investors, or an investor seeking curated deal flow - DMs are open.
Marketing-first month — Focus stayed on GTM for existing clients: narrative sharpening, channel tests, and investor-facing collateral that actually moves conversations forward.
OTC & private placements — Active pipeline in blue-chip names via L1 SPVs. If you’re interested in liquid deal flow or direct-to-cap-table investments, reach out.
2. Pipeline & Client Progress (names redacted)
OTC & Private Placements
We remained active across high-quality OTC and private placements via Layer-1 SPVs. Q4 will include more detail; for now, we’re advancing diligence and allocation.
Zero-Slippage Infrastructure (Client Onboarding)
Onboarded new clients building zero-slippage infrastructure for DEX trading. We’re supporting full go-to-market and driving hands-on growth across two major ecosystems.
AI Staking Optimisation
Momentum continued with tighter brand DNA and internal marketing processes; ready to push into more aggressive guerrilla marketing.
ETH Tokyo Meetings
A fortnight of founder and investor meetings; follow-ups scoped and scheduled. The goal: build long-standing relationships with high-quality investors and individuals in the space.
3. Internal Operations & Hiring
Hired: Content editor & strategist to elevate brand storytelling, steer design direction, and own video creation/editing—for Riverstone and for clients.
Hiring: Technical automation specialist to stitch our software stack together, automate ops across tools, and scale research/outreach—so we can go deeper, hands-on with clients.
BD machine ran steadily with strong outreach across LinkedIn, X, and Telegram.
Lightweight content calendar kept X + blog in sync with deep-dives.
4. Product & Tech Experiments
Workspace upgrade — Migrating the team to Google Workspace with AI features to streamline drafting, meeting notes, and knowledge retrieval.
AI automations — Exploring deeper ecosystem tools to automate back-office ops (research, scraping, enrichment, routing) across our platforms—freeing more bandwidth for client work.
Branding & creative — Used Midjourney (among other tools) to iterate image concepts; brand DNA applied across assets before design sprints.
Video — Continued testing short-form explainers derived from blog posts; building a simple, repeatable recording/editing pipeline.
5. Market Intel (What Caught My Eye)
The Treasury Company Bubble (Charles Edwards)
A wave of “Bitcoin treasury companies” is accumulating BTC on corporate balance sheets, creating a reflexive loop (price ↔ equity multiples ↔ issuance ↔ BTC buying). Big tailwind—tempered by leverage and policy risk.
6. Personal Learnings & Reflections
In-person still compounds: Tokyo reminded me how quickly face-to-face meetings turn into genuine opportunities.
Consistent routine wins: prioritising sleep hygiene and taking regular time off—even when you don’t think you need it—keeps execution sharp.
Distribution > creation: a smaller number of useful posts and thoughtful replies on X beat large volumes of generic content.
7. Looking Ahead (October Preview)
New video brand — Launching a separate Riverstone branch focused on video production and practical knowledge-sharing (aligned with our YouTube brand direction).
AI-driven research — Deploy AI tools for data scraping and research to power lead-gen and BD for clients; aim to tackle the hard-to-scale tasks hands-on.
Cosmoverse, Croatia — End-of-month travel to represent a client; the rest of the team will provide operational support from Israel.
Content engine — Define a long-term schedule to create, edit, and post across Substack, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Shorts, and TikTok.
Secondary deal flow — Continue sourcing and distributing opportunities; after the first Kraken allocation, more secondary/direct opportunities are in the pipeline—reach out if interested.
