Psalm 28 is my lament today. Eternal One, I am calling out to You. You are the foundation of my life. Turn Your ear to me. I’m lifting up my hands to You in prayer.

While evil men scheme against Your people, the earth roils with turmoil. The ground shakes, dries out, floods, breaks open, and swallows whole towns. The skies fill with destructive winds devastating town after town.

The rich take and take again, leaving nothing but debt in their wake. Pay them back for their deeds, Lord, and hold them accountable for their malice.

Lord, I honor You. You hear my cries for help. You are the source of my strength and the shield that guards me. Shield Your people and help them rest in You. I trust in You and Your goodness, Lord. You send Your help.

My heart sings Your praises and my mouth praises You. Thankfulness overflows from my soul.

Lord, You give me life and power. You are my sturdy fortress. Rescue Your people and bring prosperity upon them. May they know You as their shepherd. You pick them up and carry them at all times.

Thank You, Lord, my Savior, my Shepherd, and my King.

Eternal One, I am calling out to You; You are the foundation of my life. Please, don’t turn Your ear from me. If You respond to my pleas with silence, I will lose all hope like those silenced by death’s grave. Listen to my voice. You will hear me begging for Your help With my hands lifted up in prayer, my body turned toward Your holy home.

I beg You; don’t punish me with the most heinous men. They spend their days doing evil. Even when they engage their neighbors in pleasantness, they are scheming against them. Pay them back for their deeds; hold them accountable for their malice. Give them what they deserve. Because these are people who have no respect for You, O Eternal, they ignore everything You have done. So He will tear them down with His powerful hands; never will they be built again.

The Eternal should be honored and revered; He has heard my cries for help. The Eternal is the source of my strength and the shield that guards me. When I learn to rest and truly trust Him, He sends His help. This is why my heart is singing! I open my mouth to praise Him, and thankfulness rises as song.

The Eternal gives life and power to all His chosen ones; to His anointed He is a sturdy fortress. Rescue Your people, and bring prosperity to Your legacy; may they know You as a shepherd, carrying them at all times.

Lord, thank You for my reader. Thank You for hearing her voice as she raises her hands to You. She honors Your name as she follows Your leading. You give her strength and guard her daily. She trusts in You, Lord, and You send her Your help. She thanks You for Your goodness.

Thank You, Lord, that You give her life and power. You are her sturdy fortress. You rescue her and bring her prosperity. She knows You as her shepherd and feels You carrying her through the valleys.

Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
