An immortal being trapped in a mortal universe seeking its way home. Book 1 of a planned trilogy.

In the grand scheme of things, it's mortality that drives all human ambition—the fear mortal life may be empty and meaningless. But for those seeking the truth, that may not be as tragic as it sounds: if life as a human being is empty and meaningless, it also makes it empty and meaningless that it's empty and meaningless. Don't you see? If this be true, you may conjure life to be what you wish it to be.

Now the truth-kicker: the moment you see that truth, The Truth has the room (the space, the breadth) to make Itself known; whether you welcome it or not is up to you. Most don't, for they love (and hate) the thing they have made of themselves, the story of how they came to be, defending the innocence of their actions (or non-actions) as they passed through time and space.

Mortality—a tale told in as many ways as can be imagined, though their beginnings and endings are exactly the same: born of thought, ending like mist on a morning breeze. But in-between, the cosmic light horizon (the maximum distance from which light from particles could have traveled to the observer in the age of the universe) could contain a story that reaches beyond the visible universe and make known the unknown.

Who are we to limit our understanding of life to space and time, to matter (whether dark or visible), once we recognize we are the bard who conjured such a universe. Only at the core of our being does life exist, all else is just a story.

I hope you enjoy this one.
