G’day dear friends, readers and listeners,
I hope this finds you well. Just a few quick things to share.
Firstly, a gift. Perhaps you’ll find it as special as I do. On our last day with Paul Hawken in California last year, you might remember we walked his local streets in the forest and recorded a more personal conversation. That became episode 270 on the podcast, The Seed That Needs Fire.
Well, soon after, or maybe before, I can’t quite remember, we were sitting at a cafe in town. I shared with Paul the prospect of a friend and I running the Confluence river journey on return home. That’s when he pulled out his phone and read the opening verse to his next book - working title, Upstream.
I pulled out my phone and recorded the moment. I couldn’t believe the serendipity. It only occurred to me later that you might enjoy the listen, so I asked for his permission to share. He then took the time to record a version without the crowd noise. I hope you enjoy it.
