Less conflict.
Less attention.
More praise.
“We love Nikki, she's always so calm.”
“You're such a good girl, you’re so quiet.”
Those may not be actual quotes, but that was the sentiment I interpreted at that young age.
In my mind the message was clear: ruffling feathers, questioning things, or doing anything more than being quiet and calm wasn’t lovable or acceptable.
But here’s the thing: calm wasn’t always peace.
Sometimes it was fear, sometimes it was survival, and sometimes it was both. They had no idea, I never shared.
I watched others speak their truth and get shut down.
Watched how being bold, emotional, or simply real made people uncomfortable.
“You're so sensitive,” they’d say.
So I stayed small.
I stayed quiet.
I stayed “good.”
I tucked the emotions as much as I could (I mean, I am an HSP, INFP, Pisces, Projector…)
But the cost of peacekeeping was me.
And when I realized that my silence had led to some painful experiences, including sexual assault and other unwanted advances, I knew something had to change.
I was no longer a child.
I didn’t have to stay silent anymore.
I needed to learn to speak up.
To advocate for myself.
And to believe that I was worth advocating for.
Getting to that space has been a journey.
And the three biggest helpers? The same three tools I use in my work every day:
Meditation. Human Design. Energy Medicine.
These tools helped me reconnect to the voice inside, the one that had been quieted, but never lost. They’ve helped me come to a place of true self acceptance. And they’ve helped me release the energy of trauma and other circumstances that created the silent one.
Eventually I found that the more I shared… the more others found their voice too.
That’s what we unpacked in one of our Self-Care Saturday sessions.
The silence.
The cost.
The collective reclaiming.
Shifts can happen quickly—especially when we move energy together.
That day, some people began reclaiming their voice.
It may feel shaky at first.
That’s okay.
It’s an energetic muscle that has simply been dormant.
Give it grace as it rises out of the shadows and into the light.
Ad you incorporate more stillness, you’ll come to know it as a vital key to unlocking the soul.
And it’s what leads us to peace through the authentic expression of truth.
That’s what Success Through Inner Peace really is.
It’s not about sitting on a meditation pillow fighting your noisy mind.
It’s not about staying quiet to keep the peace.
It’s about tapping into the power of silence and stillness so you can hear the inner voice and speak outward—with love, clarity, and truth.
It’s learning that your stillness is not your silence, it’s your source of power
It’s the home of your voice.
So I want to ask you:
When did you first learn that being quiet felt safer than being seen?
Where in your life have you been “good” instead of honest?
What would it look like to reclaim your voice today?
You don’t have to shout.
You don’t have to fight.
You just have to speak from center.
With clarity,
Nicole
