Today we pause to remember the thirty American service members who made the ultimate sacrifice aboard Extortion 17 on August 6, 2011.
They answered their nation’s call without hesitation, serving with courage, honor, and unwavering devotion to their mission and to one another. Their legacy is not measured only by the battles they fought, but by the lives they protected and the freedom they defended.
Though the years have passed, their sacrifice remains etched into the heart of a grateful nation. We speak their names with reverence, we honor their families with gratitude, and we vow that their memory will never fade.
May God grant eternal rest to these American heroes, comfort to those who continue to mourn them, and strength to all who carry on their legacy.
Gone, but never forgotten.
May the truth always prevail, and may justice be served for those responsible.
