For a long time, I thought warming up meant sitting on the floor, reaching for my toes, and counting to 10.

It looked like what you were supposed to do.

It also didn’t actually prepare me to lift.

These days, I think about warming up differently. Before I train—whether it’s a heavy lift or just a quick workout—I want my body to feel awake. Not stretched into submission. Not passive. But active, warm, and ready to move.

That’s where kinetic stretching comes in.

Instead of holding static positions, you’re moving through them. You’re getting your blood flowing, your joints lubricated, your muscles firing. It’s the difference between idling your car… and actually driving it.
