Peace Part 2
-if-
peace was a poem,
would she hold the pen high,
letting ink spill its tears,
asking flowers to grow?
or would he open a book
documenting truth
on a ledger
for those to behold;
understanding that
there might still be good,
- would he know?
-if-
peace was a poem,
would there be room
for one more?
all ages and sizes,
hope and a prayer?
or would it wait
until asked,
locked in the heart
of tomorrow,
un breathed, un shown,
unknown
like before?
-if-
peace was a poem,
would its words
drip into dreams,
laying pillows on feathers
on top of a pen?
or
would words stretch
to hands,
my hand to yours,
connecting hearts
from their home to ours?
-if-
peace was a poem,
would it forgive me
and forgive you?
would it be
a language of more,
kindness,
love, compassion
never a chore?
or
could we write many more?
shoulder to shoulder,
shore to shore?
-if-
only,
this.
