There’s one major reason why I talk about this sale so much every year. And it’s because I’ve done the whole "wait until the weather actually feels like fall to shop," only to be disappointed by the selection. The sizes I want are sold out, the good stuff is gone, and I’m buying things I don’t really love.

This always comes down to two categories for me, shoes and jackets. I think these are always favorites to shop for the season, so the good stuff goes quickly. And that’s truly one of my main reasons why I love this sale so much. Looking back at my closet and the things I love and wear each fall, year after year, many were purchased early. And quite a few were part of prior NSALES.

August 9th is the last day to shop the sale, then prices go back up to full price on August 10th. I remember when I was a sales associate at Nordstrom, we were tasked with checking every product for an old price, or we were honoring it. One always slipped through the cracks, never failed.

These items will go on sale again mid-end season in November. Sizes will be sparse, and you’ll be bummed that the leather jacket is no longer available or is still full price.

Here’s a few of my top picks that are in stock, on sale and that I know you’ll love for the fall and winter season.

  1. Leather Swing Jacket - This burgundy leather jacket is only $250 and reminds me so much of the one I got from Sezane last year that I wore to death. Such a good price and a few pieces left in each size.

  2. AllSaints Leather Cropped Trench - A splurge, but if you’re a trench girl, this black leather option is so damn cool. You’ll have this for years to come. I don’t think the cropped trench silhouette is going anywhere anytime soon.

  3. EDIKTED Faux Leather Bomber - For a more affordable option, this faux leather bomber moto crossover jacket is such a cool piece. Pair with relaxed jeans and boots, or style it over a dress for a cool night out.

  4. STAUD Knee High Western Boot - I think this is one of the best buys of the sale. STAUD makes beautiful pieces and these slightly western-inspired boots will be a staple for your fall wardrobe. Wear in early fall with dresses and skirts, all winter long, and into early spring for transitional dressing. For a more affordable option, try these Steve Madden knee high boots, love the heel on them.

  5. MARGAUX Loafer - These are super lightweight and such a classic item if you’re a loafer person.

  6. New Balance 530 Sneaker - This is also a great time to invest in a new pair of sneakers. Whether it’s for your walks, gym time, or for sporty outfits, you really can’t beat these prices and options.

  7. Adidas Japan Low Top Sneaker - The updated Adidas Samba this year will be these slimmer-profile Japan-style ones. They have a sleek sole for a more streamlined look. I love this burgundy color, personally eyeing adding these to my cart too.
