Hi there, it’s Cheryl — Angie’s wife.
Angie’s team asked me to write a guest post now that my wife is in the home stretch of her U.S. Senate race. I was more than happy to say yes. But before I dive into all things Angie, a little about me: I’m a proud Minnesotan, I was an educator for 25 years, I’m a huge WNBA fan (go Lynx!) and, alongside Angie, I’m a mom to four amazing sons and Gigi (grandma) to three grandkids.
We don’t exactly look like that anymore (ha!), but I’ve known Angie for a long time and she is one of the most hardworking, strongwilled people I have ever met.
Angie and I met twenty years ago when I was coaching our sons’ basketball team, and we haven’t looked back since. Now, I’m so proud to be supporting her all the way to the finish line in her run for U.S. Senate. But she can’t win with my support alone — that’s why she’s laser-focused on gaining grassroots momentum in all 87 counties across the state.
Angie is no stranger to tough battles. She grew up in a mobile home park with the support of a hardworking single mom and grandmother. She worked two jobs to pay for state college. She worked tirelessly to become a journalist and went on to help lead a major Minnesota manufacturing company.
And then, in 2018, our lives changed forever when Angie ran for Congress and flipped a GOP-held district blue.
I’ve had the privilege of being by Angie’s side every step of the way, and now I’m asking you to join me — because the GOP is targeting her with relentless attacks on the ground and on the airwaves, and pouring hundreds of millions into Minnesota to keep the Senate red.
Thank you for reading, and for being a key part of this campaign.
