There’s a word for the sickness underneath all of that is happening to our tender world and beautiful people. Under all of it. Older than all modern concepts of medicine or psychology, and once it’s in your consciousness, you will start seeing the thing it names everywhere, in a rocket launch, in a stock price, in the gap between what we swear we love and desire to protect, and what we actually pay for.
This week’s essay is on that word. Because it found me three times in one afternoon this past week, from three directions, and I couldn’t get any of the three to hold separately, like Grandmother Spider came down on me and weaved some majestic tapestry of meaning.
So I am going to bring a Cree word, a chemo drip, a Yew Tree, a Rocket, the Art of Syntropy pulsating with Animist & Ancient Wisdom, and the Empire Death Cult all together, entangled, or maybe disentangled, the way they came to me, random, but not random.
And under all of it, this old word, a question I’m honestly not sure I want the answer to. This journey starts with pain, love, and magic, and ends with pain, love, and magic, as most stories do. And somehow this journey, this story, might help you making sense of this time we are in.
Follow me down the rabbit hole Alice, and through the Spider Web… It is Wetiko time.
