What happens when Android developers start building with real-time conversational AI?

We want to find out.

Android Engineers is launching a focused hackathon for developers interested in exploring Android, voice AI, and real-time conversational experiences.

Build something interesting using:

  • Android

  • Agora Conversational AI

Your project can solve a serious problem, test an experimental interaction, or simply demonstrate a creative use of conversational AI.

Some possible directions include:

  • An AI learning companion

  • A voice-first productivity assistant

  • An accessibility-focused Android app

  • A conversational customer-support experience

  • A real-time gaming or community companion

  • A multilingual voice experience

These are only starting points. Original ideas are encouraged.

  1. Build a working Android project using Agora Conversational AI.

  2. Record or publish a short demo.

  3. Share it on social media.

  4. Tag Android Engineers and Agora.

  5. Publish your submission by August 15, 2026.

The winning project will receive $200.

We will be looking for projects that are useful, creative, technically interesting, and clearly demonstrated. A polished production application is not required. A strong prototype with a thoughtful idea is enough.

This challenge is a warm-up for a much bigger Android hackathon.

The upcoming hackathon will include $3,000 in prizes and more opportunities for Android developers to build, learn, and showcase their work.

More details will be announced soon.

For now, choose a problem, build a prototype, and show us what Android and conversational AI can do together.

What are you planning to build?
