The Day After Bocce

Last evening was the second to last night of bocce for this season. 16 teams of senior citizens rolling balls at 5 and 7 PM on Mondays alone. I was too wound up to sleep right, after we won 2 of 3, the last of which was a nail biter. If we can hold on or get rained out next week, we will retain first place.

I was watering the tomatoes when I got the news called out to me. I was already exhausted after a three-mile trek to, on, and back to the car from the Point Pleasant boardwalk. I hung up the hose and took a nap. I woke and cranked up the internet.

The feed was all Dolly, and all complimentary. Way more than Tennessee lost a star today.

I have never seen such a flood of positive in all the years I have had my face in the trough. America, as divided and floundering as she is, seems to have unanimously loved Dolly. And I am going to let it go at that.
