I’m led by intuition, and when it strikes, I don’t question it. This was one of those times.
Once my brain kicked in, I looked it up and learned that the Lemurian heart is often linked to the idea of Lemuria, a lost ancient continent remembered in metaphysical traditions as a kind of spiritual civilisation.
It is described as a place where people lived in far greater harmony with nature, each other, and the unseen. A place guided less by force, hierarchy, and logic, and more by intuition, compassion, energy, and inner knowing.
Hmmmmmmm. Wouldn’t that be grand…
A Lemurian heart is also a phrase used for heart-shaped crystals - but don’t be fooled, it seems to be purely a marketing label for quartz.
More importantly, and here’s where things aligned for me, I learned that the Lemurian heart is not something physical. It’s a field of consciousness. A fine spiritual current, like light carrying memory. It holds ancient intelligence, and it’s connected to the Earth and the whole universe. Lee called it ‘the all-seeing eye’, because it connects the very fabric of our universe, the light and the shadow.
It belongs to our instinct, our deep knowing, our inner senses, and all the things we feel before we can ever explain them.
We can’t prove it in the usual way. We simply recognise it.
Ordinary human emotion usually moves outward. We feel because of people, events, friction, longing, attachment, and hurt. Our emotional life is often shaped by what is happening around us and how others affect us. It’s horizontal.
The Lemurian heart moves vertically. It’s current runs upward and downward. It stirs through contact with something higher, deeper, or more eternal, whether you call that spirit, source, God, light, or universal intelligence.
It can also awaken in the presence of another person who carries that same resonance.
I’ve had the feeling of meeting someone for the first time, and there is immediate love - like I’ve known them for ages. There’s a bond before any explanation. Could this be the Lemurian heart responding to another?
When it comes to our human heart, the Lemurian heart rests through it, around it, and above it. It is awakened through spiritual connection, prayer, presence, devotion, stillness, awe, or moments where we become alone and silent, allowing something greater to come through us.
Lee also continued to say that it can’t be dragged down by darkness. It can stand in the presence of distortion, pain, or heavy energy without becoming it. Whoah!
I gotta get me one of those.
That may be why the image holds power for me. It speaks to the possibility that part of us remains untouched, clear, and deeply connected, even when the rest of us is tired, bruised, or confused.
There’s a whole world in that worth sitting with.

As I moved further down the rabbit hole of research, I learned that it is believed to carry the memory or imprint of that old consciousness into this life.
I know that I am a highly sensitive, deeply empathetic, intuitive person who feels a strong pull towards healing, truth, peace, and raising human consciousness. So learning about this new term for my bliss gave me further permission to come back to my human heart with new eyes. Before fear became the main language and before survival taught me to grip, perform, protect, and harden. To be led by compassion rather than control, by feeling rather than force, and by trust rather than constant guarding of my feelings.
The human heart, as we usually know it, is more bruised than the energy of the Lemurian heart. It has lived here on earth. It has dealt with disappointment, rupture, rejection, shame, and grief. It’s full of memories. It flinches and second-guesses stuff before our brains have even caught up. It desperately wants love, but it also wants to feel safe.
And it is meant to feel all those things.
But to rise above, into our higher consciousness, and tap into an unadulterated pure love is far too appealing for me.
I want my heart to remember unity in a world built around separation, and I want it to be less trapped by wounds.
I will honour the lost continent at the bottom of the sea, and may even treat myself to a crystal sometime soon, but I will make a conscious effort to regain these lost qualities in myself.
I will practice tapping into my Lemurian heart, beneath the layers of coping, performing, and protecting, and tune into my ancient knowing. Into my deeper, wider, peaceful heart that recognises truth as soon as it arrives.
