The White Christian Nationalist End Goal for Women

Yesterday, I was interviewed for a publication that will come out sometime in September. One question I was asked:

My answer provides a good opportunity to tie this week’s newsletters to what’s at stake for women in the midterms and beyond.

Women are married as young as possible

Ideally as soon as they graduate from high school. But it’s no coincidence that Republicans refuse to outlaw child marriage in many states. I believe they’d be fine with women getting a sixth-or-eighth-grade education and being married off when they hit puberty.

White Christian Nationalists teach young girls that maintaining their purity is vital for their future husbands. I always heard that it would be unfair to my future Good Godly Husband to compare his sexual prowess to any other man’s. I was not to know whether my husband was “good at sex.” Whatever he offered me would be “good sex,” and that should be enough.

Which is why WCNs want girls married as young as possible. These insecure, pathetic man-babies can’t take the thought of a young woman knowing more about good sex than they do.

Women are not educated

As indicated above, I believe the level of education offered to women would decrease over time. The Heritage Foundation’s Saving America by Saving the Family pooh-poohs the need for a female college education, because she should be married and popping out babies by the age of eighteen.

But discouraging women from advanced degrees is the start of the march toward depriving women of education, not the final destination. I’d say WCNs would allow women a sixth-grade education - max - and it would be focused on home economics and a woman’s place in society.

Women cannot work outside the home

Because women would not be educated or be eligible to seek advanced degrees, they would not have many job opportunities outside the home. Again, this is the stated goal for women in Saving America by Saving the Family. They believe college educations and job opportunities have given women “too many choices,” and that’s why young women aren’t marrying today’s young men. By removing those opportunities, young women might be forced to marry an incel who’s been living in his parents’ basement for three years, because he’ll be the one with the education and the job.

Women will not have access to contraception

White Christian Nationalists want women to have as many (white) babies as God gives them. The only “contraception” Project 2025 endorsed was Fertility Awareness-Based Methods, which is really a Catholic system to determine when one is ovulating. We can see how ineffective this method is at preventing pregnancy by the size of Catholic families who historically used it.

I believe WCNs also want to return to an era where women had children at home, delivered by female midwives who may or may not be properly trained and certified, and without any modern assistance to dull the pain. Vengeful, angry Old Testament God cursed Eve with suffering during childbirth, and White Christian Nationalist men (and the vile women who help them maintain this system) will insist that was his plan for every woman.

Women cannot own property; instead, they will BE property

This is what Allison Tait calls Coverture 2.0. White Christian Nationalist men will own everything. Women and children will be property of these men. From birth to death, anything a woman has will be claimed and managed by her father/husband(s)/male relatives. I also believe women will not be allowed to have separate bank accounts, credit, investments, or enter contracts. Which means fathers will be arranging their marriages and agreeing to terms on behalf of their daughters.

Women cannot vote

While outlawing women’s suffrage and repealing the 19th Amendment is still portrayed across corporate media as a "wacky fringe idea,” White Christian Nationalist men and their billionaire overlords are serious about it. They attribute pretty much every bad (for them) thing that happened in the 20th century as a consequence of women voting, and they are determined to revoke that hard-fought-for right.

Women cannot divorce

Much as White Christian Nationalists do not want women to be able to pick their partners, women will never be able to exit a marriage for any reason. Saving America by Saving the Family decries divorce on multiple pages. They want to make it impossible for women to escape abusive, adulterous, incestuous, murderous men. By removing education, career opportunities, and the right to own property, WCNs will make it difficult for women to leave bad marriages, but outlawing divorce for women will be extra security and control for men.
