All round good egg, and guru of all things writing, Mark Thompson (I’m sure he will love being called a guru) shared something the other day within his fantastic Systematic Writer Inner Circle Skool community which has had me thinking long and hard all for the last couple of days.

He shared a newsletter on Substack where the owner was offering a 30 minute face-to-face consultation call for the remarkable price of $1.

Now, I know that no one can make a living offering 30 minute consultation calls for just $1, but as Mark pointed out in the discussion within his group… it’s highly likely that the consultation call is the lead magnet designed to open up conversation where they can offer a follow up service costing somewhere around $97, possibly more.

The 3-97 $100 Day Funnel

If you don’t already know, I am working towards creating a series of 3-97 $100 Day Funnels where I create a cheap product which I sell for $3 such as a report, and within that report it will lead to a product or service which is priced at $97.

The whole idea is that the two products generate $100 in total.

I am not expecting everyone who buys a $3 report to buy the $97 product or service, but a few should.

If a person buys both on the same day, then I have achieved my goal of earning $100 for the day, semi-passively.

The 3-97 $100 Day Funnel is simply designed to earn $100 per day.

There are variations of that, you may prefer to have a 5-95 or 7-93 $100 Day Funnel.

Basically, the two products combined totals $100.

So whatever price you give to your first product, your second one will be priced accordingly to make it a total of $100.

I’ve purposely kept it simple. No huge funnels with multiple pages offering multiple upsells, downsells, cross promotions, or one time offers.

Just two products equalling $100.

The 30 Minute Face-To-Face Consultation Call Funnel

So where does the $1 30 minute face-to-face consultation call fit in with this?

I think this could be a brilliant addition to my $100 day funnel business model.

The only difference here is that it would not be as passive as the other funnels.

This will require me selling a 30 minute face-to-face consultation call for between $1 and $10 and then having a follow-up product or service I can offer during the call which is priced accordingly to make it up to $100.

Again, I am not expecting everyone to take up the higher priced offer, but those who do, it takes the sting out of doing a handful of 30 minute consultation calls for $1.

Also, let’s not forget that doing calls means that you have opened up conversations with people meaning that they may still purchase a higher priced program later if they do not do it on the day.

A call is a quick way for people to get to know you and decide whether they like you and trust you.

Yes, they are time consuming, and I understand why some people don’t like doing them, but in reality you are only talking to someone for half an hour.

If you know your subject or industry inside out, you won’t have any difficulties answering any questions people will have.

I am going to spend some time thinking more about this as I like the idea of adding a 30 minute face-to-face consultation call into my portfolio of $100 Day Funnels.

I believe I will charge more than $1, but I don’t imagine I will be charging more than $10 for the first initial 30 minute face-to-face consultation call.

I could even have a $97 face-to-face consultation call as a follow-up product in the $3 reports.
