dad's bolognese and other 90s mom things

Hi and happy Friday!

That means I am back with another roundup of a recipe, activity, and product to live more like a 90s mom and less like an overwhelmed 2020s mom! Let’s bring back nostalgia, calm and presence in our lives!

And this is honestly a great way for me to recap the last week and reflect on how things are going, the small moments that made me happy and also the hard.

I had a hard parenting day, like HARD HARD. I ended up crying a little bit too, I think I’ve just been feeling like I’ve held a lot in and then a squirrel ate my tomato plant (like the whole thing, gone) and I just wept in the garden.

I knew I could just get take out for dinner but instead, I saw my friend Sarah | Intentional Motherhood post spaghetti by the pool and I knew I needed some spaghetti. This recipe is actually originally from my dad! He had the idea to cook the noodles in the sauce and let me tell you I am never going back. This recipe is soo good, so hearty, so delicious. Trust me.

Okay next, activity!

This is super short and simple and veryy do-able. In fact, I encourage you to do this TODAY.

I had the idea that I took so many cute little pictures from our outing to our local plant nursery, and all of them brought so much joy but I wanted to consolidate them all, so I introduce to you: screenshot your screenshots.

I went through and I screenshot each one individually, about 9 of them to make a square and then you screenshot that and it makes an easy and cute collage of your day you can either share here on Notes or with friends and family. It’s easy, tech-friendly and a fun reflection exercise. Now go do it!

Lastly, my product recommendation is getting yourself a CUTE BASKET!! (pictured in left bottom box in my gratitude screenshot above)

I had this on my list for soo long and finally thrifted the basket of my dreams. It was originally $32.99 but I got it for $2.99 so I saved my husband 30 whole dollars. Go on your own little hunt for a cute basket. This is perfect for: picnics, flower picking, trash truck parties.. etc.
