Easy Like Sunday Morning

It’s Sunday! It is Mother’s Day here in the UK so I’m off shortly to be treated to a giant stack of pancakes.

We briefly had some really nice Spring weather here so I took the opportunity to head out and use the pocket watercolour palette I picked up last month! It was really relaxing to get away from my desk and create something traditional; I’ll definitely be aiming to do this more often!

We’ve also been making progress on the house, with the very old tired carpet downstairs being replaced with wood floor! And I’ve been slowly chipping away (not literally) at the painting too.

I’m continuing to build up my picture book portfolio, and you may have seen the post I wrote this week that goes into more detail about my current project - Little Red Riding Hood. I’m working on the full illustrations at the moment and finished up the first one this week!

I’ve also been doing little bits of a sneaky secret project in my free time (because why have one project on the go when you can have multiple?!). Here’s a quick look, but there’ll be more to come in the future!

• I’m going to be honest, it’s a miracle this blog post got written this week - Pokopia is out and it’s all I want to spend my time on.

• I know it’s too early to get Easter stuff but I couldn’t resist picking up Marks & Spencer’s Speckled Egg Cookies! They also do their own version of mini eggs which are much better and way cheaper than the outrageous price of mini eggs this year!

• We started watching Happiness on Netflix - I love a South Korean zombie show and so far this has not disappointed.

• Did I mention how much I’m enjoying Pokopia?
