Every great career in Web3 starts with a spark.
For some, it’s watching their first crypto trade and wondering “who’s really behind all these transactions?”
For others, it’s the curiosity of how money flows across chains, or how protocols rise (and sometimes crash).
That spark turns into frustration when the data feels overwhelming, billions of transactions, thousands of dashboards, endless jargon.
But here’s the truth: every seasoned blockchain analyst you admire today started exactly where you are now, staring at messy on-chain data, armed only with curiosity.
What set them apart? They learned the tools that turn noise into insights; SQL, dashboards, and the mindset of an on-chain detective. And once they cracked that code, doors opened: internships, jobs, collaborations, and opportunities they never imagined.
That’s the journey we prepare our analysts for.
Now, let’s dive into today’s Data Edge:
Query Breakdown
Daily Aggregation: The inner part of the query first filters all transactions to a specific token and a date range (June 22 to July 21, 2025). It then groups the data by day to calculate the daily number of unique swaps and the average swaps per trader.
Cumulative Sum: The outer query takes these daily results and calculates a running total of swaps for the entire period.
This query essentially provides a daily breakdown of swap activity for a token and then shows the cumulative progress of those swaps over time, then order the result by block_date in ascending order.
Our learners don’t just study SQL, they create real dashboards that solve real problems.
