📅 Goshen Kimchi Tasting

📍 Hallway outside Anabel’s Grocery

Goshen will be popping up with their signature kimchi for a special tasting event. If you're curious about kimchi or already a fan, come by to taste and learn more about this delicious dish.

Both of these pop-ups are perfect opportunities to try locally crafted products, support small businesses, and find new items for your trip to Anabel's.

In providing fresh groceries to over 600 customers per week and over 20,000 unique customers to date, Anabel’s has become a critical resource on campus. Thanks to our subsidy fund, we can provide essential produce, frozen veggies, and pantry staples at prices much lower than those of nearby grocery stores, making nutritious food accessible to all Cornell students. As stated by an anonymous customer,

“Anabel’s has been critical to my well-being. It has allowed me to be well-nourished with fresh farm ingredients that would be cost prohibitive to me otherwise.”

Anabel’s is more than a grocery store. We are a place where students can build community across difference. Thus far this semester, we’ve hosted a community dinner in collaboration with Cornell’s very own Dilmun Hill Student Farm, partnered with the Prisoner Express Program to grow its pen-pal initiative with incarcerated individuals, and provided free personal hygiene products to students alongside the Basic Needs Coalition.

Anabel's is intentional about investing in the vibrant local food economy. We source over 75% of our products from vendors in or bordering Tompkins County, amounting to $112,000 spent on local farmers, bakers, and other producers last year alone. We’ve also strengthened our partnerships with our many local vendors: Examples include Laurie’s Grain-Free Bakehouse, a mother-son Dryden-based duo that provide us with our gluten-free breads and muffins; Stick & Stone Farm and Fort Baptist Farm, two of five local farms that provide us with an abundance of produce; and Wide Awake Bakery, our source of artisanal bread and granola.
