AMD, Astera Labs and Arista Networks reported their Q1earnings after market close yesterday. We had sent a Live Trade Alert out yesterday morning, where we exited our position in Arista Networks 😅, along with slightly trimming Astera Labs and holding on to AMD 💪.
Join us as we help hundreds of investors navigate the rapidly evolving AI innovation landscape amid a potentially tricky Q1 earnings season, identify rock-solid businesses with strong growth trajectories & operational grit and deliver proven alpha-generating returns.
Since March, the TPO Portfolio delivered returns of 20%, significantly outperforming the broader indices.

Yesterday, Advanced Micro Devices AMD 0.00%↑, Astera Labs ALAB 0.00%↑ and Arista Networks ANET 0.00%↑, all reported their respective Q1 earnings, which showed how ultra-focused markets are on seeing real top-line growth, not just nominal growth.

Today’s post is a quick (but important) update about these three important companies that sit at different layers of scale-up networks in the AI data center. Note, up until yesterday, we had investment positions in all three companies above, until we fully exited out of Arista Networks before market close.

First off, we’re extremely happy about our early calls with AMD. Since we launched The Pragmatic Optimist portfolio in late September 2025, we quickly made AMD one of our top five positions in the portfolio and had been aggressively buying shares during pullbacks. AMD continues to remain among our top ten positions at the moment.

In this post, we will discuss our forward investment plans with AMD for our portfolio after taking its latest earnings into account. We will also do the same for Astera Labs, which we doubled down on during the March pullback but had begun trimming our ALAB position heading into earnings.

But, before that, we will start this post by breaking down our reasoning behind why we decided to exit our entire position on Arista Networks’ position yesterday just before the results were published, with a gain of close to 25%. (Retrospectively, that was a good call, as the stock dropped double digits 📉 after earnings)

📌The TPO Portfolio has staged an impressive rally since March 1, now up 20%+ 💪, significantly beating the S&P 500 and benchmark ETFs that include AIQ AIQ 0.00%↑, GRNY GRNY 0.00%↑, IVES IVES 0.00%↑, and SPRX SPRX 0.00%↑ during this period of time.

We decided to close out our Arista Networks position yesterday, exiting with a 24.3% profit. The reason we decided to fully exit the position was less to do with
