I know, I know...everyone's over the Nordstrom sale, but went in to the store and was blown away at how good the assortment was!

I admittedly had low expectations of this sale. Browsing early access online had me kind of meh. But today I went in the store and I’m glad I did! There are some truly great pieces on super sale that I couldn’t not share.

My philosophy for these types of events is to only share things that I would buy full price. I don’t want anyone spending money on things you don’t need or that you’ll rarely wear just because they’re on sale.

Before I share my picks, last thing I’ll say. I know it’s July, but there are some GREAT Fall basics included in the sale. That’s one of the things that makes this event unique. It’s not old inventory they’re looking to unload..in fact there are quite a few new arrivals.

If you are looking to rebuild your wardrobe or add some pieces that are versatile, perfect for mixing and matching, keep reading!

Denim: My top pick (straight leg with stretch, universally flattering), a bootcut option (we’ll be seeing this silhouette a lot this fall), and a super chic and fun barrel that I’d wear to the office or for to happy hour.

Sweaters: A gorgeous short sleeve cashmere tee, an incredibly versatile cashmere crewneck (in ivory or chocolate) that will be among most worn this Fall, a perfectly oversized rollneck, one of my favorite cozy cable knits and a black ribbed classic.

Shoes: So many good finds. A woven flat in a beautiful neutral color easy to pair with so many outfits. A splurge boot $150 off and a similar style for less that I actually liked more. A beautiful zip bootie. Two feminine looking boat shoe options (this and this for less than $100). The mesh flat I loved under $50 and a gorgeous ballet flat under $100. And two top picks from my favorite shoe brand (this beautiful boot and this cap toe ballet flat).

Outerwear: Ok maybe the best surprise going in store. I didn’t have any of these picks when I browsed online! This classic Barbour jacket with a subtle modern twist is my top pick of the entire sale and is over $200 off (I also love this one). A cashmere cable puffer jacket. An effortlessly cool anorak for Fall sidelines or school drop off. Also not outerwear but I’m totally obsessed with these cozies (pants and sweatshirt) for lounging at home or for weekend coffee runs.

Other odds and ends: A few great bags (this tote I’ve owned and loved for years and this), my all time favorite deodorant, a Baublebar necklace for $42 (love their large beaded necklaces so much), and my new curling iron (I’ve never had more DMs asking about how I style my hair since buying).

As you browse the sale, please let me know what questions you have! For all my picks and sizing note, see the full collection here.

Happy shopping!

xx, Meg
