The white dress has been my most worn piece this summer. And this is coming from a t-shirt and jeans girl! I just love the simplicity, the versatility, and the subtle elegance.

There’s also a lot of nuance when you start to look closely at what everyone is wearing. To help show what I’m talking about, I pulled together this little inspo board based on my recent saves.

dresses similar to moodboard inspo (clockwise starting top left : dress 1 // dress 2 // dress 3 // dress 4 // dress 5 // dress 6 // dress 7 // dress 8 // dress 9)

I truly think that if you only buy one thing this summer, make it a white dress!

The beauty of a white base is that it layers beautifully — perfect with summer accessories or add a short lightweight jacket and ballet flats for an effortlessly chic look at the end of the summer to take you into fall when the temps start to drop.

When you take a closer look at all the white dresses, it’s easy to see different neck lines, lengths, straps, fabrics and lace details. They’re all great and what you gravitate towards will come down to personal style (for all the white dresses that caught my eye, see my full collection page here), but below are my 3 favorites.

  1. A linen strapless: This $75 linen strapless dress is sleek and minimal, perfect for dressing up with a fun necklace stack on vacation or dress down with minimal accessories, throwing a sweater over your shoulders, and adding a woven/straw bag to make it look a little undone/relaxed. I wear an xs.

  2. A cotton poplin maxi: If you want to stay cool and look chic, but prefer to show a little less skin, this crisp cotton poplin maxi is such a flattering silhouette that gives you that effortless polished look. Perfect with a long pendant necklace and neutral shoes for office days or add some fun jewelry and a pop of color for brunch, vacation or any warm weather day. I wear an xs.

  1. My favorite (if I could only have one)…a linen mini: If you like a mini, try a linen one like this or this. There’s just something about a really simple shift dress in the summer that looks instantly chic — and you can pair it with whatever accessories you want. You can dress it up a little for a date night, or just keep it casual for an everyday outfit. I’d take a small in posse and have an xs in quince.

I just love all of these so much! What is your favorite white dress? Let me know in the comments!
