This week I’m writing to you from London, and I’ve been thinking a lot about one simple idea: movement.
Most good things in life rarely happen while standing still. They tend to emerge while we’re already in motion, trying something, showing up somewhere, testing an idea, having a conversation we didn’t plan.
Last week we experimented with a new format at Venture Café Berlin. Instead of the usual panel, we screened Run Lola Run and then discussed decision-making under uncertainty. The film shows the same situation unfolding multiple times, where small differences in timing, choices, and positioning completely change the outcome.
In many ways, building a startup feels the same. You rarely have perfect information. Opportunities often appear only once you’re already moving. And sometimes the most important thing is simply placing yourself in environments where things can happen.
If you’ve been thinking about building something but feel stuck, one good way to start moving is to do it with others.
