Last year, I spent most of my time offline (6 months), and when I resumed writing on Substack/Medium, it became tiresome to think about what to write or post about.
Notes are a way to stay connected with the broader Substack audience.
this year, I want to hold myself accountable and be steadier and more intentional in my writing on Medium, Substack, and other platforms. (and you should too).
So, basically, I built a simple publishing system in Google sheets (Excel-friendly too) to help me stay productive and reduce guesswork.
It’s designed to be refined to suit any pillar or category of content you create in: tech, writing, reading, life, career, running, coaching etc.
What this is:
Real weekly publsihing calendar
A dated notes bank you can write from (5 notes starters per weekday)
a “Today” tab that pulls your notes for the day from the bank, so you don’t spend time scrolling the bulky notes bank
Free version (Jan-Feb): 2026 publishing system v1.0
It took a bit of time to create, so the free version spans from Januray to February. it’s good if you want to test it before committing.
weekly plan + dates
weekday-only notes bank with prompts across data, marketing, polls, collabs, etc., (easy to refine by category/content styles/strategy).
Today tab that auto-pulls each day’s notes

This full version can keep you consistent all year, and maybe even through 2027, if you’re disciplined. It’s a bit spicier.
You can refine these to suit your category, subject matter etc.
Q1 notes bank (Jan-Mar) is pre-filled, so you can start immediately. I stopped at Q1 on purpose: after a while, pre-filled notes can start to sound generic. this is built to be refined into your voice and your real life.
