I’ve been here all along. Watching you move towards something you can’t name.
Not a destination. But an arrival.
The you who realized - you’re not your output, but your imprint on the heart of this place, and those who dwell near your field.
I watch as you busy yourself. Tirelessly. To the point of dropping.
Sometimes you think you’re depressed because you’re exhausted. But that’s not it.
You feel blue, often even vacant, because being occupied by life is not the same as occupying your life.
It’s the difference between executing and immersing.
There’s a fine line in the middle, where the two realities are allowed to meet.
This is where I wait for you.
Being in partnership with the world is different than being consumed by it.
There are cues that tell you when you’re giving all of yourself away.
Signs that you’re pushing beyond what you can hold.
When you heed the messages, and drift back into your body, I meet you there.
I want to remind you of a piece of yourself,
Not the one who’s addicted to the dopamine hits of task completion and praise,
The one who is irrationally passionate about things that reap no tangible reward, but bring all the feels.
That’s me.
Your un-lived self.
I am waiting.
All love,
