Sorry for the delay on this week’s roundup, I’ve been really busy with choir (the job I get paid to do). Without further ado…
5. Meredith’s cackle upon entering the socialite party.
I’ve included an urgent audio snippet in case you missed this transcendent sound. In the words of Justin Bieber, “I love that laugh.”

4. This extremely Utahn couple vying for screen time.
I surely can’t be the only one that noticed Ms. Christian Girl Autumn Hat and Mr. Bolo Tie lurking in the background for the last ten minutes of the episode. They were fitted up and ready for their closeup… and they did that.
3. Lisa channeling Jen “I’m Innocent!” Shah.
“None of it’s true, it’s BS, they made it up, THEY LIE!” - Michael Jackson slamming plastic surgery allegations/Lisa Barlow refuting the existence of active lawsuits.
2. Mary’s cluttered closet room.
The situation playing out in said room was decidedly NOT high vibe…. but the cozy clutter? Makes me feel safe. At least Robert has that, I guess?
1. Lisa’s real-time ego death.
She’s played an iconic, yet not-quite-authentic role on the show for years. It’s rare for a housewife to get away with it for this long, and a true delicacy to witness the veneer finally crack. It’s clear she’s hurt by the allegations but doesn’t know how to respond outside of her usual act… I love when queens blur the line between fiction and have an ego death in the process! Points to Bronwyn as well for dog walking her.
5. Bronwyn’s unseasoned camping steaks.
When she said she doesn’t know anything about cooking I was like…
I get that you’re rich NOW, but babe aren’t you a mother? Surely you’ve had some experience in the kitchen and know that food is better with salt and pepper AT MINIMUM.
4. Whitney rose’s Vivarium ass neighborhood
I don’t know if people have seen the movie, but it’s a deeply unsettling exploration of confinement within the homogeny of cookie-cutter, heteronormative suburbia… and it pains me that the Wild Rose experiences something similar every day. I want more for her!
I’m a design snob, sure, but I couldn’t imagine having all that money (or in her case, having) and spending it on a McMansion with zero aesthetics and zero space from neighbors. She must love it though, because her previous home is actually in the same neighborhood.
It’s giving cursed. Blink twice if you need your fans to hire an Etsy witch so you can break out of this captivity, Whit.
3. The two-minute skiing scene.
I’m sorry but it’s an extremely dark-sided sport! The concept of being cold as shit while profusely sweating due to the pounds of gear you’re wearing/hauling—all to abuse your joints in ways you didn’t know was possible is … baffling to me.
I admit, this is more of a personal wound given that my singular skiing experience ended in a snowmobile-down-the-mountain rescue situation, but the culture is still grating at best and elitist at worst Pass!
2. The general audience reaction to Lisa’s confessional makeup.
You lot act like you’ve never had a lash go rogue before. GROW UP.
1 . Robert Senior’s looming off-screen presence.
Look, I know many people have beef with Mary and her church. I’m not saying that she doesn’t have her own abuse of power going on—and I’m not saying that her being a victim herself absolves anything she’s done. BUT she is truly a victim whose entire adult personal life and family dynamic is rooted in being groomed. So, in a way, I guess it makes sense that she would seek power and “overcorrect” in wielding that power in other areas of her life.
She’s just had an interesting arc. With her church and husband fading from the storyline—I truly shutter any time he’s mentioned and I remember her baggage outside the supportive mother/out-of-pocket friend role. In the words of Kelly Bensimon, “It’s creepy.”
This week, Trump’s horrific administration inadvertently led to the creation of one of the funniest reaction memes of all time.
The Wicked 2: For Good trailer dropped—but more importantly, Ethan Slater dropped some absolutely fire pics of him as Tin Man. The first thing I thought upon seeing them was how much they reminded me of the rapper Future. Something about their stark apathy and melancholic regret feels cosmically aligned…
Task is the new elite HBO show, and people aren’t talking about it enough. Whole cast is having a mother-off. Black Rabbit on Netflix is also kind of good. I thought I didn’t need another show with Jason Bateman as a seedy, unassuming evil-doer… but turns out I do.
Till next time!
