AI is steadily chipping away at different job roles, and the next one to go is video editing.
If you've been following me here or Linkedin, you know that I explored podcast editing way back via AI in 2021 , way before ChatGPT became famous. It was comparatively slow and tedious then until Sam Altman came along

Then, even in video form , I explored AI using tools from Descript, Minvo, another Indian one before that whose name started with P (forgetting it now), Jupiter, etc.
And it did help -the only thing is I lacked the patience/ incentive to keep producing video content.
But @opus agents seem a game-changer . Here’s the launch video
What does it claim to do:
➡ Perform topic research on your behalf
➡ Script videos
➡ Write hooks for short form and long form video
➡ Voiceovers
➡ Provide assets/broll for your video
➡ Even create motion graphics for your video
This also symbolises the difference between AI companies in India vs China and the US.
Interestingly, I had a conversation with the AI video company in India recently. (Didn’t get the job:/)
In India, the focus is "we will create AI avatars, make it vernacular using AI" because thats one-two steps ahead or better than others vs. "solving a real bottleneck" which just drastically changes TAM.
Because you go from this being useful for video editors to making everyone one.That's how you grow the market, not by advertising more or optimising, but better strategy.
If everyone can tell their story via video (eg I have often been asked to do so, but it’s been too cumbersome), then it will be a game-changer.
