Cities are full of people working on similar questions, facing similar challenges, and imagining better ways forward.
But how often do they actually meet?
Urbanism has never been a solo discipline. The people shaping our cities work across planning, design, architecture, mobility, climate, research, policy, technology, community engagement, and many other fields. Yet even when they live and work in the same city, their paths do not always cross.
Over the past months, something exciting has been happening across the All Things Urban community: more and more of these connections are moving offline and becoming local.
And we’ve seen just how valuable it can be to be connected both locally and globally.
A global network lets you look beyond your own context: exchange experiences across cities, discover opportunities, ask how things work elsewhere, and learn from people approaching similar challenges in different ways.
A local community brings those connections closer to home. You can meet the people working around you, discover projects happening nearby, explore your city together, join a conversation in person, attend an event, or create one yourself.
One connects you to what is happening across cities. The other connects you more deeply to what is happening in your own.
At All Things Urban, we believe the real value comes from bringing those two scales together.
All Things Urban City Chapters bring our global network into cities, creating local communities where urbanists can meet, exchange ideas, explore their city together, and turn online connections into real-life ones.
And because every city has its own people, places and questions, every Chapter takes shape differently.
One community might meet over coffee. Another might explore a neighbourhood on foot, organise a bike tour, visit a local project, host a workshop, or bring people together around a shared urban challenge.
Across the network, Chapters have already organised community meetups, city walks, bike tours, workshops, community dinners, picnics, talks, site visits, skill shares, and collaborations with local organisations.

As the network grows, we wanted to make it easier to see what is happening across our local communities and how you can become part of them.
