All Things Fashion Tech Q2 2026 in Review

Fashion tech fundraising and acquisition activity was noticeably quieter in Q2 2026. That, however, does not mean the industry itself took a breather.

At the end of Q1, we made two major predictions. One, that big tech and fashion would continue to partner with increasing frequency. Another, that the industry would move away from AI styling apps and towards technology that solves more tangible problems.

Throughout the past three months, we’ve seen the former come true in ways we could not imagine, from Jeff Bezos attending the Met Gala to Meta releasing smart glasses with Kylie Jenner and Google and Highsnobiety launching the Pixel Institute of Fashion Tech.

We’ve also seen the second prediction come true in ways both expected and unexpected. The industry attention has turned towards wearables, a phenomenon we projected at the end of 2025, and agentic commerce.

Put together, this reads like an industry growing up, with intangible ideas traded for infrastructure. Below, the areas where that shift showed up most clearly in Q2.
