It’s shaping up to be a very sweet August following the announcement of Audio Flux Circuit 08: Confection. They’re looking for bite-sized (3minute) audio stories about unexpected conversations, close-to-home discoveries and the people who quietly shape our lives…And dessert!
To help whip up a fresh batch of ‘fluxworks’, we’re hosting not one, but two(!) Audio Flux related Audio Club events including a very special ‘Ask Me Anything’ with co-founder and audio extraordinaire Julie Shapiro. Read on for details of these and other treats, including Mike Williams’ one-off live audio documentary show in Sydney before his US tour.
Behind the scenes, the Audio Corpse race has officially wrapped up (listening party TBA) and we’ve been busy cooking up some delicious collaborations with Melbourne Uni and WestWords. Stay tuned for these flavourful creations.

The Transom Story Lab is celebrating its 25th anniversary with Transom 25, a festival taking place September 17–19 in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. This gathering will bring together many of the most thoughtful and influential voices in radio and podcasting — and anyone curious about how great audio stories are made — for three days devoted to the art of storytelling with sound.
The IWPAs recognise moments of brilliance in podcasting and the women that produce them. They don’t look at the genre your podcast is in, and don’t care how many downloads you’ve had. The awards are queer and trans inclusive and submissions can come from independently produced shows, solo podcasts, large-scale productions, and everything in between The cost is $US50 per entry and deadline is Friday August 14.
