What it is: clock

Where it came from: Amazon

Where it's going: electronics recycling

Remarks: A couple of years ago I bought two of these oversized-display digital clocks. They have no alarms or special functions they're just big and high-viz. I put one in my TV room on the wall near the TV so that while I was watching TV I would always know the time, because I was having problems with staying up too late and losing track. I put the other in the bathroom, so that in the morning or on bathroom breaks throughout the day or in the evening when I'm showering I would also stay apprised and mindful of the time. I gather non-ADHD people don't need this kind of aid but for me and my acute time blindness it was a game-changer. Unfortunately the display of the one in the bathroom seems to have died from moisture, so I am getting rid of if. I moved the TV room one to the bathroom to replace it, which is possible because I now have a new “world's loudest alarm clock” next to my TV where I can always see it and where I am forced to leave my bedroom in the morning and come turn it off, which helps me not get stuck in bed or looking at my phone.

What it is: Atlantic magazine “If Trump Wins” issue, Jan/Feb 2024

Where it came from: internet

Where it's going: recycling

Remarks: I thought this would be a neat collector's item in the event Trump won but then I mishandled it and it got damaged and then I tried to read it and it sucks anyway, plus there's no longer really any need for me to read year-old prognostications about what would happen if Trump won because he won and now I can just see it happen live.

What it is: Shower cap? Or possibly a hair curling post-shower cap. I only ever used it as a shower cap.

Where it came from: gift

Where it's going: trash

Remarks: I don't have long hair anymore so it's no longer difficult to get my hair dry in a timely fashion post-shower.
