The sun is far
and the frost on the window
has reached my heart.
The cold reaches my fingertips,
it finds my bones,
and i remember that winter
is for the distance.
It's for the remembrance
and the collapse.
It's for the embers of a fire
that flicker in the dark.
It's for the quiet
and the remorse.
The sun is far,
and for now,
that is just where we are.
I will continue to seek,
to close the gaps,
to take what i can,
and accept the rest.
To humble my desires,
to move slow,
to nurture the little moments,
and remember,
that the sun will come closer,
all in due time.
