She had to become a sinner to save his soul from hell.
Only by meeting his demons, could she hope to make him well.
She descended deep into his night and roamed among his graves.
The only way that she could save him was to cast off darkness’ slave.
The looming cross casts a shadow that’s brighter than the sun.
Its fearsome weight may once deceive, but its light won’t be outdone.
Saints were once fallen sinners who came to see the light.
She dropped to her knees and prayed for him each and every night.
The more she prayed the more he strayed until he was near the all-consuming fire.
Yet she didn’t give up on his mortal soul. She’d yet save him from the pyre.
And just like that, as he was about to fall for the last time in his life,
She reached down through the lapping flames and removed the demon’s knife.
He looked into her peaceful eyes and down into her soul.
She returned his gaze and without words told him that one day he’d be whole.
The road he’d walk would be filled with stones but each one meant redemption.
When he reached the end, she’d be by his side celebrating his ascension.
And on that day the holy host of all the heavenly saints
Celebrated along with her as he reached his blessed fate.
The scars he’d had from his earthly life now shined with righteous favor.
For when his life had come to an end, he’d found his blessed Savior.
