This book has been done.. the issue hasn’t been the writing, or even my first round of self editing.
It’s been the process of becoming the version of myself who is healed enough to share these words.
I went into flight mode when I tried to force myself to finish this before the end of 2025, sitting down and writing every night until it was done. What happened is that I stumbled upon a part of the story that was still unhealed, and it set me back, big time.
I couldn’t even open my drafts until today.
These words have been written, many of them since 2019. Writing was my form of catharsis since I experienced this out of body, bizarre, traumatizing experience.
I went from being a cool makeup and boy crazed party girl to being committed to a psych ward and believing I was bipolar. It was an excruciatingly painful experience that no one has forced me to share, and if I never spoke about it again, I doubt anyone would ask.
That said, it’s also incredibly important.
