Antici...pation

It’s 10,000 degrees in Nashville, Tennessee, but in Bandit’s Fjord it’s still cold as all get-out.

The recording of my new radio play, Bandit’s Fjord is still being painstakingly edited this week and thus will not air in its original slot tonight. So, you know, re-save the date. I’ll post when I hear about a confirmed time slot.

In other news, we’re now less than a month out from our annual half-cross-country road trip back to Thief River Falls for The Pennington County Fair. How do we prepare for this? Well, I’ll tell ya:

1. Start the arduous process of arguing about which route to take. Last year we took a wild one that, for a brief moment, I was convinced would end with us driving off a cliff. But this is Minnesota we’re talking about, so we were much more likely to drive straight into a cow. (We did not, thankfully.)

2. Think about all the snacks we could pack and then ultimately neglect the moment we see a Dairy Queen. Except the energy drinks. I will drink those.

3. Prioritize our various pieces of luggage. My husband was absolutely convinced the best thing we could possibly do is switch from our Samsonite to DUFFEL BAGS, which is very much over my dead body. And in that case we wouldn’t actually save room with the duffels anyway, because my dead body would take up a not insignificant amount of space.

4. Daydream about Oofda Tacos the size of our heads. No additional comment required.

5. Get the oil changed. Sorry, that one’s boring but necessary.
