A few things to end your September -
I took a fun trip down memory lane for Catholicmom.com this month, recounting a story of traveling in Europe and how the Memorare is a flying novena that gets you places!
I’ve been working on a book that’s all about the spiritual life and growing in a relationship with God, taking the wisdom of many saints and priests, using Scripture reflections and Catechism quotes, and applying that to lay people today - using relationship analogies to show how it’s possible for us to have a rich prayer life. So when my article for Denver Catholic was due - I threw something together based on what I’ve been writing about.
I actually apologized to my editor because I didn’t think it was good enough. And then, the article was shared in a larger publication. It either means I don’t know what people want to read, or that there is hope that this future book will come to publication and help people to pray.
Read Prayer, the Rescue Inhaler: What My Child’s Asthma Taught Me About the Spiritual Life at DenverCatholic.orgThe Mental Health and Motherhood Summit is quickly approaching! You can still sign up to hear talks from 24 women, including myself, over the course of 2 days - October 10th and 11th. Details can be found here.
I can’t vouch for all the speakers since I don’t know them, but I do know these conversations are important to have, so I’m looking forward to hearing their point of view.I’m hosting a welcome wine and tea for local homeschoolers tonight, so I’m trying to get this out before doing a final scrub down of the house. I apologize for any typos or mistakes!
I did my first reel ever on Instagram last week, and I am still deciding if I will ever do one again. My husband is a woodworker and needed to take professional photos of all the work he’s done in our house to add to his portfolio, so I snapped a few myself to highlight to other homeschoolers/booklovers how we store all our books in our fairly compact house.
Here are a few of the photos for your viewing enjoyment!
