Kevin Ryan · AlleyCorp’s Newsletter

The last several years have been among the most exciting in our firm’s history.

Three years ago, we raised outside capital for the first time with our $250 million fund. Today, we’re proud to build on that with the close of AlleyCorp Fund II at $335 million.

For those who have spent the last three decades building and investing in startups, it’s hard to overstate just how exciting it is to be working in tech right now. The pace at which new companies are being built is extraordinary. Founders are moving faster than I’ve ever seen, and they’re using less capital and significantly smaller teams to do it.

The products and platforms we’re seeing in initial pitch meetings would have been unimaginable for a pre-seed or even seed-stage company just a few years ago. It’s why we believe now is the right time to double our focus and deepen our commitment to backing founders at the earliest stages of company creation.

In healthcare, companies like Thyme Care and Pearl Health have demonstrated enormous opportunity in value-based care, while our conviction in AI’s medical impact has only grown through investments in Pathway Labs, Rhino FCP, and others.

Across enterprise and software, companies like Rogo are building category-defining applications, while ShopMy and Agentio are bringing businesses and consumers more meaningful ways to interact.

And in deep tech — an increasingly important focus for us — we’ve expanded our investments across energy, space, industrial systems, and infrastructure by backing ambitious companies like Valar Atomics, Portal Space Systems, and Radical AI, who are tackling some of the biggest industrial challenges of our time.

With eight unicorns now in our portfolio, it’s a privilege to be working with so many inspiring founders.

There’s really nothing more fun and rewarding than getting to build alongside so many incredible people.

This month, AlleyCorp kicked off the first of our new event series, Journal Club, where we invite fellow doctorpreneurs and physician innovators to discuss newly released articles, highlighting the topics that are shaping medicine and healthcare.

Our first Journal Club focused on the recent Nature paper, analyzing general-purpose LLMs and how they may be outperforming more specialized medical AI tools.

Earlier this summer, we officially opened our new company headquarters at 368 Broome St.

We look forward to hosting many tech and founder gatherings on our new rooftop and indoor lounge. If you’re interested in hosting your next event with us, please reach out to events@368broome.com for more info.

On the ground floor of the building, we also opened Oriana, a new wood-fired restaurant from Chef Andy Quinn and Sommelier Cedric Nicaise, alongside Frenchette, the bakery from James Beard award-winning restaurateurs Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr.

Keep an eye out for more updates on our three marquee events, bringing together thousands of founders, investors, industry leaders, and execs across tech, healthcare, and more.
