The Full Moon: What It Means for You

On Monday, June 29, the Moon at 8° Capricorn opposes the Sun at 8° Cancer, revealing the cracks in your foundation… don’t worry, honey, this kind of wear-and-tear is totally normal, but that doesn’t mean it’s okay to ignore it. It’s time to grab those tools, throw on those sleek safety glasses and sexy steel-toed boots, and make some much-needed repairs!

The Full Moon in Capricorn, which only happens once every 12-months, is the biggest reality check of the year. It shines an unforgiving but necessary light on the structures in your life that are falling apart, the systems that are in desperate need of an upgrade, and where your work ethic needs a boost.

While this may sound a bit harsh, behind Capricorn’s pragmatic facade is an incredible well of emotional depth. Capricorn wants you to have it all. It wants you to have security. It wants you to have pleasure. It wants you to have abundance. It wants you to have success. It wants you to have love. But even more than that, it wants to make sure that all of this is truly built last—and sometimes a little tough love is required to get there!

So no, this Moon is not here to punish you. It’s not here to make your life hard just for the sake of it. It’s not here to get you down. It’s here to help you understand the reality of your current circumstances, so that you can come up with a realistic and actionable plan to support long-term prosperity. Be honest with yourself about what is and is not working. Let go of what’s no longer functional, repair what still has potential, and lay the foundations for future success.

And no matter how tempting, do NOT take any shortcuts. Capricorn and its planetary ruler, tough daddy Saturn, hate shortcuts. Know that any shortcuts you take are likely to come back to haunt you later. (Spooky!)

Since this Moon forms tense connections to Saturn and Neptune, you’ll be challenged to integrate structure with imagination, and instinct with discipline to craft grounded goals. This is all about reworking the systems and structures of your life, so that they support your hopes and dreams, instead of limiting them—or you!

In fact, the subtext of this lunation is deeply spiritual, with the Moon activating Chiron, the wounded healer, and the Nodes of destiny. To earnestly pursue healing and confidently move towards your purpose, you must free your imagination and your intuitive sensibilities. When you give yourself both the support and the space for authentic self-expression, the world becomes your oyster.
