Hey friends!
I spent the weekend at a cabin upstate at a place called Old Chatham with my friends this past weekend. It ruled. We swam in the river, fished off the rocks, played bocce on a patch of grass that wasn't really flat enough for it (lol), and ate dinner connecting with friends. It felt so good to get out of the city and be surrounded by nature. To top it off, we built four hammocks on top of each other for the ultimate hang sesh. 4th floor was wild.
This cabin up North was pretty special. It was a cabin my friend grew up in. His grandparents owned the house, and when they passed the cabin was sold to a new owner. This new owner was family friends, and they let us stay at the house for the weekend. It was pretty nostalgic walking through the house, as most of the items and furniture were still there from what he said. That was super cool.
Typically, I spend these moments painting in my sketchbook, but this time I wanted to be present with my pals, snapping photos and enjoying all the moments out there.
When I got home, I spent the day painting. These aren't the works that usually go up here, but I’m experimenting with a new type of series to share with everyone. It’s my diary in a form that everyone can access at 9x12” in. rather than living forever in my sketchbook.
Friday ~10 am EST, I'll start posting them one at a time on IG Stories. First DM with the number claims it. Saturday evening, whatever's left goes live at alimofun.com/collections/a-weekend-upstate. You're seeing this before anyone else.
Huge shoutout to all my pals putting this together and hosting such a fun getaway for the weekend.
I’m excited to share more of this type of visual diary with you all. This is the first of many.
Talk soon friends :)
