we went quiet for a bit... here's why and what's next

If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you found us during 75 Soft, and we’re so glad you’ve stuck around through this slower season of ours!

We’ve been quiet in this space for while and it’s definitely not because we stopped caring about this space… that’s just the reality of motherhood sometimes.

From Emmalee:

I’ve been pregnant with baby #3 (almost 37 weeks as I write this, whoo hoo!). Every pregnancy has changed me in some unexpected ways and this one has been no exception. In fact, each has brought about major shifts in my personality and especially in my perspective (something I’m actually planning on writing about soon!)

This time around, I’ve made a conscious effort to lean into those changes instead of resisting them, turning my focus inward as I prepare to welcome this new little life into the world. I’ve also been preparing for my first free birth, and cannot wait to share the experience with you all!! At the same time, my personal life has undergone some pretty significant changes as well. Despite the challenges, I’ve tried to fully embrace and savor this final pregnancy. It’s easily been one of the most transformative (certainly one of the craziest) seasons of my life.

From Annika:

I’ve been spending every second of work time (aka my two hours a day during my daughter’s nap) finishing our first published book, Eat Your Prenatal. It’s an all-encompassing guide to prenatal and pregnancy nourishment that covers EVERY topic you can think of - a guide to all the foods you should be eating, the supplements we recommend, all the important lifestyle topics for a healthy pregnancy, and an entire section dedicated to supporting and preventing common pregnancy complications like preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, group b strep, swelling, and so much more. We hope to have it available on Amazon by October or November this year, so hang tight!! We cannot wait to get this in your hands!

We didn’t want to force something here just to keep a streak alive, BUT we’re back now, and we’ve spent the quiet stretch thinking about what this space is actually for.

Here’s what we’ve settled on: becoming a mother completely rearranges you. Your body, your nervous system, your whole sense of who you are… it’s all changes in a single moment (and often continues to evolve). Most advice out there treats that rearrangement like a problem to manage instead of something worth actually understanding. That’s what Aligned Motherhood is for: leaning into this transformation and supporting our bodies and minds throughout.

Over the next few months, you can expect real, discussions on female physiology, fertility, hormones, and postpartum recovery that doesn’t talk down to you; birth stories and the more difficult parts of matrescence; practical rhythms for actual daily life (maybe another challenge as we head into the fall?!) and more of the Collective: your stories, your questions, a real back-and-forth instead of us just talking at you.

We’re also building some new ways to go deeper together in the coming weeks. More on that soon!

In the meantime, comment and let us know how you’ve been since we finished up 75 Soft so many months ago. What season are you in currently? Trying to conceive, expecting, fourth trimester, years into this? Or maybe motherhood isn’t your season at all right now and you’re here for your own health or to come home to something softer and more feminine in yourself. We believe every woman carries a kind of mothering in her, regardless of her season.

We’re craving this kind of community as much as you are. That’s what we’re hoping to build here, together.

So glad to be back,
Emmalee & Annika
