Welcome to Week 5 of 75 Soft ~ Movement as Medicine

Movement as Medicine:

This week, we’re focusing on movement.

Not as punishment, compensation, or something that has to be intense to count, but as communication with the body.

Movement, when implemented well, is one of the most direct ways we signal safety to the nervous system. It can help metabolize stress hormones, improve circulation, support lymphatic flow, stabilize blood sugar, and remind the body that it is capable and strong.

When movement is consistent and gentle, it regulates.
When it’s chaotic or extreme, it dysregulates.

Many of us were taught to move in reaction to food, to guilt, to insecurity, to “starting over on Monday.” This week isn’t about pushing harder. It’s about moving in a way that feels supportive, rhythmic, and sustainable.

We’re not trying to exhaust ourselves.
We’re strengthening in a way that regulates.

As always, the five foundations from Week One remain in place, anchoring everything. On top of those, we’ll introduce two simple movement rhythm options designed to support strength, stability, and nervous system balance, especially within real life.

Your Week 5 Rhythms:

  1. 10-Minute Core + Floor Reset
Three to four days this week, spend 10 minutes reconnecting with your deep core and pelvic floor through slow, intentional movement. (Examples included in the downloadable guide.)

  2. Incorporate three “movement snacks” in your day
Instead of relying on one dedicated workout, incorporate three short “movement snacks” throughout your day, each lasting about 5 minutes. This might look like squats while your kids play, stretching while dinner cooks, dancing to a song, holding a plank, or choosing to carry your child instead of using the stroller. These moments are woven naturally into your existing routine. (A video explaining how to do this and the benefits is included in the downloadable guide.)

This week is about shifting the story around movement.

Not “I have to.”
But “This supports me.”

When movement becomes rhythmic and nourishing, energy stabilizes, mood improves, sleep deepens, and confidence builds quietly over time.

Inside the Week 5 Guide linked below, you’ll find deeper explanations, simple examples, printable checklists, and optional reflection prompts to help you integrate this week in a way that feels realistic and steady.
