Ever since I started posting on Substack back in January, I now have 1,200 subscribers. That’s 1,200 brilliant, smart, kind-hearted people following my journey and LinkedIn advice.
Can you believe it??? THANK YOU to everyone who supported me on this journey. I am over the moon and couldn’t have done it without you (obviously)!! ❤️
But!!!
I’ve realised I’ve never actually introduced myself properly. So if you’ve been following along, wondering, “WHO THE HECK IS this woman rambling about LinkedIn algorithms?”
Let me introduce myself…
Hiiii, I’m Alicia. (Pronounced “Ah-lee-see-ah”, not “Ah-lee-sha”)
I was born in Germany as a 90s kid and raised on Walkmans, Nokias and the emotional damage of Tamagotchis dying at school.
And speaking of school, I absolutely HATED it!!! So while everyone else was going to university, I decided to book a one-way ticket to London. I checked into a 12-bed hostel room, and figured I’d learn English whilst getting some work experience.
What was supposed to be a quick stint turned into a full-blown accidental corporate career for over 13+ years.
I started in B2B tech sales at Mastercard, then Gartner, and ended up working for LinkedIn as a Global Client Executive.
I was good at it. Ticked all the career boxes and made some serious $$$.In
But on my 34th birthday, almost exactly two years ago, I looked around and thought: “Is this it? Is this what I’m doing for the next 30 years?”
My life felt painfully predictable, boring and somewhat imprisoning. So I decided to utterly and completely blow it all up.
Over the course of the last 24 months, I:
Ended a loving 9-year relationship as our future dreams weren’t aligned
Lost 30kg of excess body weight
Sold the countryside house & Tesla
Moved back to London into a studio flat
Fell in love again with someone who craves excitement as much as I do
And then in June last year, I quit working for LinkedIn to build my own business about LinkedIn (I’m aware of the irony).
Today, I’m writing this from Japan. 🇯🇵
I’m travelling with my new boyfriend, who left his stable job to come and work for me so we can build my business remotely whilst travelling the world.
My life is COMPLETELY unrecognisable from what it was 24 months ago.
The decisions I made were fucking terrifying. Every single change felt like a huuuuge risk.
But knowing what I know today:
Ultimate freedom is worth the sacrifice.
Betting on yourself is scary, but so is staying stuck.
And I’m not resting here. I’m still taking risks. I’m still changing my business as I go, refining it to match the type of life I TRULY want to build and live.
Ever since becoming an entrepreneur, I have hustled.
I hustled so hard that I completely burnt myself out with 1:1 client deliveries. Glued to my laptop 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. Putting my clients first when I should be out of the flat, discovering new places and cultures.
That’s why I’m planning to launch a Substack paid tier.
Because this will allow me to help even more founders crack the LinkedIn game, without my calendar being filled up to the brim with meetings, without becoming a prisoner to the business that was supposed to liberate me.
I’ve already started working on my paid articles, and I couldn't be more excited to make them available to you soon! 🤩
They will be filled with actionable step-by-step guides, deep dives, templates, and cheat sheets.
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the articles I’m currently writing:
“If I Had to Start From 0 Followers Today, Here’s Exactly What I’d Do in the First 30 Days”
“The 7 Types of LinkedIn Posts That Quietly Print Money”
“The 15-Minute Daily LinkedIn Routine That Keeps My Pipeline Full”
“The LinkedIn Profile That Books Calls While You Sleep”
I will, of course, still publish my weekly free article and a ton of Notes every single day.
So don’t worry, you haven’t seen the last of me. 🤓
Anyway.
This is me. This is my story. This is my future.
If you’re new here: Welcome!
If you’ve been here a while: Thank you for sticking around!
I’m really looking forward to this next chapter. The world better get ready for me! 🚀
Let’s get that party started!!
