I’ve been in the Bay quite a bit this past week, and the cooler weather has given me a true taste of fall. Karl (the fog) has felt especially cozy, and I’ve been loving it. That said, getting dressed is always a bit of a head-scratcher when it’s hot at home but chilly once you cross the bridge. Going back and forth between the two has had me reaching for layers.

Lately, what’s felt right is any combination of white, black and chocolate brown accessories. I’ve been living in my wider-leg white and black jeans—which always feel slightly more polished—and adding a few darker brown accessories. Even though it’s still really hot at home, those touches of chocolate brown have been satisfying my craving for fall.

Admittedly this post is probably more so for my Bay Area friends… but a few early fall pieces I’ve bought and am wish-listing…

Sweater. Black Tank. Brown Purse. Cream Shorts. White Jeans. Suede Sandal. Dr. Sturm Face Cream. The Row Bag.. Shell Jacket. Sneakers.

Wear-now inspiration and a few early-fall purchases…

These suede sandals have been one of my most-worn purchases lately. They’re perfect to wear now and will transition so well through the season. The suede makes them feel slightly dressier—they elevate any denim but work just as well with skirts and dresses. I’m just the biggest fan of A.Emery sandals and live in all of my styles from them. They get better and better with wear.

Toteme’s Summer Parachute jacket is the ideal Marin/Bay Area layer. It’s lightweight with a cool, oversized fit that instantly elevates any look—and it’s roomy enough to wear over chunkier sweaters as temperatures drop. I like that this color feels slightly summery to wear now but also such a versatile one to wear throughout the fall.

Okay, so the Agnes 12 is my latest obsession from The Row. I love the shape, rich chocolate-brown color and buttery-soft pebbled leather, which feels durable enough that you don’t have to be too precious with it. It’s the ideal small-to-medium size for carrying everything you need throughout the day (note: it doesn’t fit a laptop), with a small interior pocket for keys and other essentials. It’s giving everything in my closet—from summery dresses to shorts—that perfect transitional feel.

I own these low kitten heels in gray from a few seasons ago, and they’re still the pair I reach for most. I knew the brown would be ideal for fall and honestly year-round—especially with denim / for dinners out.

Another gorgeous bag from Savette’s fall collection that’s on my wish-list. I love the ease of a small crossbody—and the fact that this one can also be carried as a clutch. It’s the perfect travel bag: wear it crossbody during the day, then carry it as a clutch for evening.

Tank. Long-Sleeve T-Shirt. White Jeans. Plaid Shirt. Bucket Bag. Suede Sandal.

I’ve tried countless white long-sleeves, and this one has quickly risen to the top for me. Eterne’s is perfectly oversized, incredibly soft and an ideal lightweight layer for sports-mom life—or simply wrapping around your waist / tossing in your bag.

I’m really feeling plaids at the moment. I’ve been wearing this one on repeat—it’s a nice, lightweight layer to wear now in the heat and into fall, and the colors still feel summery. SoldOutNYC* has become a one-stop shop for essentials for me. Another early-fall necessity: this lightweight merino wool layering crew. *code: ALICIAL15

Mulberry’s bucket bag also caught my eye this season—it’s such a classic, practical crossbody and the ideal size for everyday.

T-Shirt. Button-Up Shirt. Bag. Shorts. Jeans. Flats. Suede Sandals.

Henley. Green Cargo Pants (I’m wearing). Suede Bag. Flats. Brown Fight Pant. Sweatshirt. Sneakers (these have a similar feel for less).
