Coming in hot (literally) after a very sweaty two-day weekend at my son’s soccer tournament. It got me thinking about summer sports mom life because, if I'm being honest, these are the clothes I wear more than anything else.
Plus, we were home all of July for once, which gave me a real glimpse into what I actually wear around the house, taking my kids to camp and sports practices, and running day-to-day errands (as opposed to the excitement of vacation dressing).
My MVPS have been easy oversized linen tees, ribbed tanks*, breezy button-ups, longer denim shorts (I also live in these), looser fitting vintage 501 Levi's (similar feel), sweatshirts (this one too) and henley’s for the cooler mornings, track shorts, slip-on sandals you don't mind getting a little wet or wearing in the grass and extra large tote bags.

I’ve been loving the sportier look of track shorts (or shorts that add a pop of color, I also like these) with breezy oversized button-downs this summer. Sporty, but with a little polish. And practical for my everyday life.
The mornings and evenings are cooler here and even during a heatwave I like having a light long-sleeve layer for going in and out of air-conditioning during the day. I also find myself sitting and waiting for my kids at appointments and whatnot in the chillier indoors.
Also very into this Eterné long sleeve as a lightweight layer. It’s easy to tie around your waist or toss into a bag and is a little longer / more oversized for that sportier feel. I wear this one in the mornings to yoga too. (In general I find Eterné to run really small — but this is an oversized fit so take your true size).
And the lightweight sportier jacket — this cotton jacket was my recent purchase for a lighter layer as we head into fall (another good style / color). Also very into this one!
Tank. Wearing an old James Perse henley (another good option). Sandals.
Inspo | Oversized striped long-sleeve for this fit
A really great larger tote (and brand to know) — comes in multiple colors / sizes.
My sidelines essentials are all of the beverages… water bottles for everyone, coffee to-go for me. I have two thermal mugs I really like that are genuinely worth sharing because they actually fit in your car’s cup holders (key). I like this one and this one. Ideal for hot and cold beverages and I like the design of both. The Fellow one is the best option for tossing into a bag.
And this is the water bottle I fill up for myself everyday and keep on hand.
If ordering for the kids, this is the larger size water bottle Rex takes to practices / games (and I also have this one for him which is a great bigger size too).
I also picked up this wipe dispenser to keep in my tote or car. It’s already come in handy more times than I expected and feels like a surprisingly satisfying upgrade from the loose napkins that used to live in my glove compartment!
