I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way about a designer brand before. It sounds dramatic, but I genuinely feel like Phoebe Philo just gets me. Or maybe I get it. Either way, there’s something about the clothes that feels very instinctive to me, and I just keep coming back to them.
And it’s not just the clothes. It’s the bags and the jewellery too. My collection has grown quite extensive over the years, but my Phoebe Philo bags are easily some of the most used items in my wardrobe, with my Medium Kit Cabas probably being my most treasured piece.
So, while I was in London for a day of appointments at the beginning of the month, I popped into Dover Street Market to try a few things on. I had a list of pieces I wanted to see in person, but, as usual, ended up wanting to try on far more than I’d initially planned.
The shapes, the proportions, the slightly strange details — nothing is too obvious or trying too hard, but somehow it still feels special. I think that’s what I love most about Phoebe Philo — I can put something on and instantly know I’ll want to wear it again and again.
So, here’s my current favourites in store and why…
