An exciting new lead for Kealoha and a quick life update

Enjoy today’s audio newsletter above! ^^^

Hey Gigglers!

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Kealoha and I had an awesome holiday season. We baked our signature Jesus Bread, perfected our recipe for sourdough blueberry muffins, discovered a new favorite beach spot where we can enjoy the sun, sand, and sea without any waves (which means Kealoha can go in the water and I can help him up out of it myself!), I finally watched Dune part 1, and we played lots of games.

We’re heading into this new year with much to be grateful for and lots of hope. I’ve written multiple versions of this update for you over the last few months, but each time I finished a draft, it seemed the next day some new development happened and suddenly there was a whole bunch more I wanted to share with you and then the whole cycle repeated! So before this becomes a 2026 end-of-year update, here is a roundup since our last check in:

This newsletter started as a place for me to share my original absurdist fiction with fellow goofballs and has turned into a community of support and love for my husband, Kealoha, as he continues forging a new path in his fight against ALS. Subscribe for updates. LIFE IS GOOD!

KEALOHA’S FIGHT AGAINST ALS

The clinic working with Kealoha discovered another potential root cause of his disease! It’s a bit much to explain briefly, and a bit early to know for sure, but essentially we discovered a new element at play. With this new information, we tried a different approach for treatment using frequency correction and it made a noticeable difference in his energy right away, which is highly encouraging! (What was also encouraging was the fact that the clinic started documenting Kealoha’s case. They even interviewed him on camera! Everyone feels extremely hopeful that we may have made a life-changing discovery!)

With this new development, Kealoha’s treatment plan has changed.

Moving forward, our approach will need to be more aggressive and involve a lot of EBOO sessions. EBOO stands for Extracorporeal Blood Ozonation and Oxygenation. Essentially, it’s like dialysis and uses oxygen and UV light therapy to clean your blood.

Kealoha did a few EBOO sessions here on Maui last year when we learned it is a powerful way to remove damaged cells, microplastics, toxins, blood clots, viruses, etc. from your blood. The treatment plan the clinic laid out for Kealoha is very aggressive and involves a 3 hour EBOO session every 2-3 days for at least 12 sessions! For reference, Kealoha has done three 1-hour EBOO sessions total as of today, and they were spaced 2-4 weeks apart. A one hour session goes through about 1/3 of your blood volume. A 3-hour session aims to clean your entire blood volume in one sitting.

Below are some pictures from Kealoha’s EBOO appointments. Through an IV in his left arm, his blood is extracted and run through an ozone filter, then a UV light bath, then the cleaned blood returns to his body through an IV in his right arm. You can see the difference between the blood being extracted (the tube on the left) and the blood returning to him all nice and cleaned (the tube on the right). The foamy substance in the bucket is damaged cells and other junk being extracted from Kealoha’s blood!

Our new plan is as follows: At the end of this month, we’ll fly to our family in Vegas, batch cook a bunch of healthy meals and throw them in our cooler, drive to an extended stay hotel near the clinic in CA, and hunker down for six days of treatments. We will aim to do an EBOO session every 2-3 days and frequency correction in between.

If all goes well and Kealoha feels good about the fast paced treatments, we will return to the clinic in March for an entire month of EBOO treatments in order to accomplish the ambitious goal of 12 sessions (one every 2-3 days). Hopefully by then the clinic will have another location open in Vegas, which would make things much easier on us! Either way, we are prepared to do what we gotta do!

Additionally, we will do another stem cell IV treatment after this January visit and another after our intense March visit. Each stem cell treatment so far has given Kealoha an amazing boost of healing. We are hoping this new approach with EBOO will wipe out the major causes of his illness and allow the stem cells to regenerate even more effectively.

It will be draining on Kealoha (and myself), but we are extremely grateful to have a strong lead to follow. Kealoha is eager to see this through, and so am I! Once again, God continues to guide us on this path of healing and discovery.

In the meantime, I’ll keep you posted on Kealoha’s progress. Currently, K is maintaining his weight and his energy has been pretty consistent, too, with some awesome bursts here and there. One major sign of this is a measurable increase in sass. LOL. 😂 There’s a consistent mischievous spark in his eye accompanied by a handsome grin and a vibrant lively aura. He even joined in for games with family this Christmas and totally decimated us all! That’s the Kealoha we know and love!

PERSONAL GOAL FOR 2026

This year I want to reintroduce exercise into my daily/weekly routine. However, instead of going hard and trying to gain muscle mass or reach a certain weight, I am looking forward to exercising as a means of celebrating what I have. I am incredibly grateful for my body. It has carried me through every single day of my storied life these 30 years. (31 years by the end of this month!) I’d love to make exercise an enjoyable ritual, a daily celebration of what I have.

VOICE ACTING AWESOMENESS

I finished out 2025 with some epic Voice Over wins. I booked more work in the last stretch of 2025 than I booked in all of 2024! I joined some new rosters, booked some fun commercials, and even received compliments on my “boy voice” and British accent. (I didn’t even know I could do a boy voice, not to mention a boy voice while also performing a semi-convincing British accent, until I was challenged with a dubbing audition!)

I’ve started the year with strong auditions and more positive feedback. All in all I’m feeling super grateful that I am able to continue voice acting!

GARDEN WARS

And finally, our garden is doing well considering we’ve been at war with ants ever since we transplanted our herbs into our planter. We’ve tried cinnamon, Neem oil, diatomaceous earth, and even waterboarding! However, nothing has gotten rid of these ants. We lost all our cilantro and most of our parsley, but not before we were able to use some of the parsley for home-cooked holiday meals. Now the ants are focused on our squash and zucchini, so eventually we will see about getting some help to move the planter to a new area and then transplant our squash and zucchini to a separate pot. Though it sounds like a pain in the butt, it’s been really fun! Despite all the warfare, our little herb garden is still kicking and we even have some baby zucchini growing!

In Summary

Our garden seems like a direct reflection of our lives this last year. Despite being battered and bruised and, at times, struggling immensely, Kealoha and I are emerging from the fog of war stronger than we ever were before. We are eager for some big wins this year!

Stay tuned, Gigglers. I can’t wait to write a newsletter with the headline KEALOHA HAS MADE A FULL RECOVERY and I’m praying that day comes this year. Thank you for your love, prayers, and support!

Until next time,
Alexa (AKA The Giggler)
