Hello lovelies!!
Today is release day for the Australian edition of KILT TRIP! I’m running a giveaway over on Instagram of one of my author copies. It has the same front cover, but it’s a glossier edition and they changed the back cover. Check it out if you want to win a copy or add to your collection!
LAUNCH PARTY FUN
What a month March was! Pub day for KILT TRIP was an actual dream come true! Thank you to everyone who shared reviews, tagged me in posts, and celebrated with me online and in-person!
I got to do two fantastic events, one with mostly friends and family in Boulder, CO and one with Books Are Awesome in Parker at Fiction Beer. They even made a custom drink called the Kilt Grab and had it up on their drink board. 🥹 All to say, thank you for all the support and making me feel so damn special. It was a whirlwind week and I’m so grateful!!
CALIFORNIA DREAMING
I was lucky enough to chat with Courtney Kae and Falon Ballard on the Happy to Meet Cute Podcast before release. They were both Pitch Wars mentors when I was a mentee and when we finished, I asked them for advice for post-debut time. They both recommended planning some in-real-life things and I’m so glad I listened.
Coming off of release was this incredible high and then something that feels a little hush-hush, but talked about in author circles happened: this thing that I’d been anticipating for LITERAL YEARS was just…over. And I’m so, so happy with how everything went and I don’t mean to sound ungrateful, but it did feel a little bit like after my wedding, where you just…go back to normal life.
Anyway, I had some points on Southwest from a canceled trip and my grandma (who my book is dedicated to) was turning 94, so the kids and I flew to California and stayed in “the old folks’ home” (her words, not mine) for Spring Break and it was such a perfect trip. I got to give my grandma a signed copy of my book and we visited the tide pools and I found a book all about Hamilton in their library. A book honeymoon, if you will. :)
Probably never going to recover from that. 💀
MORE NEWS
I can’t remember now if I’ve mentioned here or not, but KILT TRIP is also going to the UK!! I love it so much that my babies will be in bookstores across the UK—Scotland here we come!! That print edition releases May 23rd and the new audio releases April 22nd, so I’ll be back with more news on that when we get closer!
UPCOMING EVENTS
I will be at the Readers Take Denver conference April 19th and 20th! I’m so excited to meet you, sign some books, and join a panel with my Canary Street Press editor!!
I’ll also be doing a book signing at the Boulder Barnes & Noble on May 5th at noon!
WHAT I’M READING
I’m reading Shaylin Gandhi’s WHEN WE HAD FOREVER and I’m addicted! “An emotionally powerful roller coaster of a novel about losing and finding love, perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Lucy Score.” The cover reveal is coming soon, but it’s AMAZING!! You can add this one to GoodReads and pre-order, now! It comes out in December.
I just finished an advance copy of HAUNT YOUR HEART OUT by Amber Roberts. “A dashing ghost hunter and the bookseller who made up the ghosts he’s chasing wind up entangled in more ways than one.” I was so lucky to blurb this book and you can add it to your shelf on GoodReads or pre-order now, too! It’s out in October!
And lastly, I just finished FUNNY FEELINGS by Tarah Dewitt and I was so unhinged in her DMs. This one has been on my TBR for a while, and I’m so mad at myself for not reading it sooner. Loved the stand-up comedy premise, the friends-to-lovers, and the slowwwww burn!
