Pam Bailey · The Alchemy of Menopause

If you’ve arrived here after reading something that made you think “this is exactly how I feel” then you’re in the right place.

Many women find their way here during perimenopause or menopause feeling:

  • anxious for no clear reason

  • emotionally overwhelmed or more reactive than usual

  • low in confidence or self-trust

  • disconnected from how they used to feel

  • unsure whether what they’re experiencing is “normal” or something more

If that’s you, I want to speak directly to that experience.

Menopause is often discussed in physical terms.

But emotionally, it can feel like something else entirely:

A shift in how you relate to yourself.

Some women describe it as:

  • “I don’t feel like myself anymore”

  • “I feel emotionally all over the place”

  • “I can’t recognise how I react to things now”

  • “I feel like I’ve lost my confidence”

And because this isn’t always talked about openly, it can feel confusing and isolating.

What you’re experiencing is not uncommon.

But that doesn’t mean you have to just cope with it alone.

This stage of life can bring up emotional and psychological shifts that deserve attention, support, and understanding — not just endurance.

I’m a therapist specialising in the emotional impact of menopause and perimenopause.

I work with women who are navigating:

  • anxiety and emotional overwhelm

  • identity shifts and loss of confidence

  • relationship strain during midlife transition

  • feeling unlike themselves and not knowing why

This work is about helping you make sense of what is happening internally and finding steadier ground again.

If this resonates with you, there are two ways to continue here:

You’re welcome to stay here and read — many people find that helpful.

If you feel ready for more structured, personal support, I offer a small number of 1:1 therapy spaces for women navigating menopause related emotional change.

This is not about “fixing” you.

It’s about understanding what is happening and supporting you through it in a steady, therapeutic space.

You can start with a short initial consultation.

This gives us a chance to talk about what you’re experiencing and decide whether therapy together feels right.

I keep a limited number of therapy spaces so I can work in a focused and contained way with clients.

If there are no current spaces available, you’re welcome to join the waiting list or continue reading here until something opens up.

If you’re in this stage of life and feeling emotionally unlike yourself, there is a reason for that and support can make a meaningful difference.

You don’t have to work it out alone.

If you’re ready, your next step is simple.
