I was driving to work the other day, my wife driving alongside me in her own car, baby in tow. I smiled and waved as I slowed and pulled into the left hand turn lane, she went on, speed seeming to burst through the green light. I was struck with a moment of recognition, of feeling. That feeling was that of Cooper in Nolan's Interstellar, as he detaches himself and TARS from the main vessel, allowing Amelia Brand to go on and save/explore the world(s). It's a deep, dramatic scene, one that really takes me in every time. Family pulls me in. My family is an amazing power and seeing them smile and live happily is all I could ever ask. I myself felt as if I was going into the blackhole-of work, to be tossed and turned and spend inordinate amounts of time inside, only to be released as my daughter is older, more brilliant than before. The story of love is strong, it grips you tight. Interstellar is one of my favorite movies and I do think it tops 2001 as a film. Some people argue that it's a 60% shot-for-shot remake, but there's no love in 2001, only fear. The ape-men fear, HAL fears, the astronaut locked outside of the vessel fears. A story that transcends time and space is one that a person can truly love forever. I'm not saying Interstellar will be that, but in ourselves, love moves distances, times, it is the strongest bond ever in the universe.

Speaking of movies, if you haven't seen the trailer for Jurassic Park Rebirth, don't waste your retinas and save your precious time and be disappointed with the election again. It's deplorable. More proof capitalism exploits art to an extent we don't fully comprehend. And other exploitation, we’ve had plenty of newsworthy bits since my last rendezvous with you. A murderer was put down in the street and the cops and media have fully destroyed a man they somehow found and are publicly persecuting. Innocent until proven guilty. America is nothing more than a corporate shell.

For the cucks to celebrate, douchebag Elon himself is now in charge of DOGE, trying to strip the government of anything useful and will surely help line his pockets and start privatization of anything decent and helpful. Maybe a few more CEOs will be taken care of for this bullshit. Nice going Tesla drivers, you finally, sadly realized your lame ass identical cars were a funnel to a megalomaniacal shithead maga supporting country dividing psychopath, all it took was a laptop stuck to your car to drag you in. Rad.

I have been in a mood to reread a few novels, call it comfort, trying to settle my mind and get back into a groove. Currently, I am rereading Heart of Darkness by Josef Conrad. It’s amazing, it’s deplorable, it’s fictional fact. If you have not read this novella, you definitely need to. You’ve heard of Nazi Germany and perhaps the atrocities in Vietnam and Japan, but the century before, Africa was completely fucking obliterated by the Belgians, then the English, French, Germans, basically all of Europe. And no one knows or cares because Africans don’t rule the world and bitch about it continuously. But Africa is in its current state because of what happened then. Not even the Slave Trade of the 1600s was as nasty as 1800s Belgian Congo - and if you think that’s a bold statement, read Heart of Darkness or King Leopold’s Ghost.

As an anticapitalist, it is a real pain in the ass having to sell things and ask people like you to buy them. I would love to just write and offer it for free. Really, I would. But…I have bills to pay, I have book covers and editors to pay for, and those costs only get covered if someone else helps out (my supporters/readers). I'm not a very good salesman, I'm much better at being a sarcastic ass and part time writer. Part of which is why I allowed my Nov 23 email to skip. It was close to Thanksgiving and of course Black Friday, and I don't support or involve myself in Black Friday selling or buying. And I knew everyone would be busy dodging that one aunt at dinner and had about fifty emails from T-shirt companies. We buy stuff all year, I don't need some designated holiday to do it again. Skip it.

I also just reread Neuromancer, and now I'm off to edit my third novel, and it’s pretty fucking big. Neuromancer is the only comp that I really dig, and I haven't found many other hard ass cyberpunk stories like this. So it's a reread for me. Because I love it.

Hardcovers are going to be special edition only, bought directly from me. There's no better option for what I want to offer. My other books are high quality, but there's limited customization possible, yet amazing distribution. DreamState is special to me. This is my favorite novel I've written, and possibly ever. I don’t think you’re going to want to miss this one. And I am hoping to raise enough to have a paired full color graphic book to go along with the story, like I said, customization. Oh, and there's some adult themes like real sex and anti-capitalism, so grow up real quick if ya need to. I'll be setting up a Kickstarter by March to get the capital flowing.

Releasing a new novel into the world is a lot like letting go of someone you love, with time and space acting on it separately from you. Here is the blackhole of my dreams. DREAMSTATE
